Change orders processed in a week instead of months
Digital workflow powers faster document sharing and management
Arizona Electric Power Cooperative Inc. (AEPCO) provides power to more than 147,000 electric power meters and 350,000 co-op members in Arizona, California and New Mexico.
The cooperative managed engineering drawings using a cumbersome, manual change order process. When AEPCO engineers needed drawing changes, they’d print out the PDFs, mark the drawings in pen, make note of the changes, and mail the drawings to the designers. A designer would then study the change order requests, make the changes in the original documents and enter those drawings into the system.
It could take months for these changes to make it into the system, resulting in many issues, including version control problems. Engineers could never be entirely certain if a drawing on the cooperative’s SharePoint was the most up-to-date version. AEPCO needed to replace these manual processes with an automated solution that provided accuracy and speed.
