About the Role:
In this role you will be responsible for the end-to-end user experience across your domain, as well as contributing to the experience of the Nintex platform of products, which includes software, websites, mobile and all other applications. Individuals in this role must be user-focused and analytical. As a senior member of the team, this role will be responsible for thought leadership and mentorship of junior UX designers on interaction design, usability, and research.
This is a remote role in the UK and the following European countries - Ireland, Bulgaria, Spain, France, and Germany.
Your contribution:
Design Process: The Senior User Experience Designer plays a key role leading the design process in their domain and working collaboratively with UX peers to drive consistency across the organization. They are responsible for the end-to-end ownership of the user experience process including ideation, concept development, defining success metrics, usability testing and consultation with engineering teams during implementation. The Senior User Experience Designer conducts research with our customer base to inform their work, and creates research plans and scripts, user journeys, information architecture, low-fidelity sketches and mock ups.
Research: The Senior User Experience Designer thinks strategically about how to improve user experiences overall based on a foundation of research throughout the feature development lifecycle. In this role, they both conduct research and mentor other designers in research activities, using various methods to explore user needs and identify potential usability issues, and advocate for users in their design solutions. Research activities and mentorship include analysis of research findings, writing reports and communicating results to the UX, Product and Engineering teams. Key stakeholders including Directors, Engineers, Product Managers and other UX Designers are kept informed of research progress verbally and through appropriate documentation.
UX Best Practices: The ability to stay on top of current trends in UX best practice, methods and accessibility will be crucial to success. The Senior User Experience Designer continuously stays current in their field and shares knowledge with other designers within the organization.
Process and Standards: The Senior User Experience Designer leads by example to ensure that user-centered design principles are applied through the feature development lifecycle. In addition, the success of this role depends on participation in the development and implementation of processes, and standards. The Senior User Experience Designer assists in maintaining the Design System Component Library.They ensure standards and processes are adhered to by junior designers they are mentoring. In the spirit of continuous improvement and thought leadership, the Senior User Experience Designer also helps in the design of metrics to measure the impact of design changes.
Work Complexity and Business Requirements: The Senior User Experience Designer is a valued contributor who drives user-centered design within their product team. They work on multiple moderate to complex tasks / projects in an agile environment, collaborating as part of the team design solutions that help move the business needs forward and the success of Nintex in the short and long term.
