Customer spotlight: Coca-Cola Beverages Florida

In June we celebrated the winners of the 2021 Nintex Solution Innovations – 18 leading organizations across industries and regions that are improving the way people work with Nintex. This awards program is the highlight of my year. I love hearing the new ways that people are solving significant business problems and delivering new benefits with our technology.

This year’s Nintex Champion, Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, LLC, which is leveraging the end-to-end capabilities of Nintex to support its business growth, is no exception.

Creating proactive solutions

Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, LLC (Coke Florida) is a family-owned, independent Coca-Cola bottler with more than 4,600 employees. The company sells, manufactures, and distributes more than 600 products of The Coca-Cola Company and other partner companies to more than 20 million consumers across Florida. The organization has grown rapidly – and supporting its growth is a start-up spirit and proactive mindset when it comes to solving processes.

“We don’t wait for problems to come to us,” says Robert Johnson, Senior Manager, Enterprise Transformation at Coke Florida.  “We search them out, and proactively address them as part of our commitment to moving our business forward.”

Coke Florida acquired the territory it operates in three phases – resulting in processes that were not fully integrated. The organization quickly recognized that leveraging workflow automation could help connect its disparate assets and processes, so it began using Nintex Workflow for Office 365 and Nintex Workflow Cloud.

Transformed processes, transformed operations

Coke Florida’s transportation operations were the first processes to be transformed with Nintex. Previously existing operations were manual, time-consuming, error-prone, and paper-based. “By implementing our transportation processes with Nintex Workflow Cloud, the operations and the related processes became really clean, transparent, and effective,” Johnson says.

Following off its success within transportation operations, Coke Florida began finding more opportunities to transform and digitize with the Nintex Process Platform. Using Nintex Forms and Nintex Promapp®, Coke Florida established an easily accessible repository for its critical business processes – providing visibility and control over processes while encouraging collaboration and accountability.

Using Nintex Promapp® to document processes has improved auditing processes for both ISO-certification auditors and Coke Florida associates, as it’s easy to find process documentation and ensure compliance without having to flip through stacks of binders. “Nintex Promapp® provided us validation that we’re fully prepared going into audits. It reduces risk by leaving less to interpretation,” shares Johnson.

Supporting operations through COVID-19 pandemic

The company’s well-rounded use of Nintex also had a major role in helping the company respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The safety of Coke Florida associates was a top priority of its business continuity strategy. To ensure their safety, Coke Florida needed a rapid automation solution to appropriately manage safety and wellness. Nintex Forms, Workflow, Nintex Promapp®, and Nintex RPA were the solution.

Coke Florida built a digital self-service screening process, based off guidance from various public health agencies and screening questions used by public health officials to assess the level of risk related to the pandemic. Many organizations implemented similar daily wellness forms or contact tracing solutions using Nintex throughout the pandemic, but Coke Florida took it a step further.

When appropriate, Nintex RPA is leveraged to support the tracking of certain associate’s activities and status. Nintex RPA, Nintex DocGen®, and Nintex Workflow provide the capabilities to integrate associate, customer, and distribution information from various systems and processes that support the critical information gathering that is needed during the pandemic. The entire end-to-end solution for associate health tracking – from development to deployment – was built in half the amount of time with Nintex that would have been needed if other solutions were pursued.

What’s next

There is no shortage of requests for automation and workflow at Coke Florida, and Nintex will continue to have a significant role in building impactful business solutions. As Johnson shares, “Nintex is a key ally in how we go after problems and grow our business.”
