Tasman District Council shares the secret to process improvement
Tasman District Council is one of 6 unitary authorities in New Zealand, which means they look after zoning, planning, building consents, animal control, libraries, parks, roads, bridges and walkways plus all the regional council responsibilities of resource management and environmental monitoring. With 270 staff in 8 locations & 47,000 residents in 17 settlements spread over 9600 km2, process management is critical to keep everyone up to date and in the know.
Prior to implementing their new BPM tool, the council had no standard method of managing or standardizing their processes. They needed a way to introduce their teams to the concept of capturing and sharing their methodologies and business rules to get everyone involved in council change and improvement efforts.
Watch this webinar with Liz Hegarty, Business Systems Analyst at Tasman District Council as she walks us through their process improvement journey and BPM implementation including how they:
- Introduced a new approach to managing council business processes
- Increased process collaboration and enabled all staff to be part of their change and improvement efforts
- Embedded process improvement everywhere so it has become business as usual
