After evaluating several solutions, the company chose K2 Software to replace its legacy BPM product because of its SharePoint integration and strong workflow capabilities. Now, Nintex K2 Cloud is integrated with many of its third-party products as well, including SQL Server, Oracle, and OpenText.

Currently, K2 Software is being used in many different ways across the enterprise. One business unit built a safety-oriented workflow based on the integrity of pipeline assets. The solution begins with SmartForms, and once an anomaly or issue is detected, a form is submitted and routed to everyone who plays a role in keeping the pipelines safe. It takes care of completing tasks, obtaining approvals, and maintaining an audit trail—and eventually even facilitates the return of the pipeline back to normal operating conditions.

This critical safety-focused solution was built entirely by the business unit with no IT involvement. Previously, this would have been a custom-coded solution that required IT. With Nintex K2 Cloud, this business unit could create a solution quickly on its own. Now, they have the necessary auditing capabilities to provide for regulators, ensuring the process happens every time, consistently, and on time.
