Bender Group boosts efficiency by automating paper-based internal processes

Reducing paperwork increased efficiency

A long-time market leader in monitoring systems for electrical safety systems, Bender Group struggled with slow, internal paper processes that sometimes resulted in inadvertent errors. Bender needed to optimize.

Many of Bender’s internal processes, such as quality management, were inefficient. The quality management team evaluated the company’s products by capturing and analyzing submitted failure reports. This time-consuming paper process took three to four days for a typical submission and was prone to mistakes.

Bender’s IT implementation partner IPI GmbH, also a Nintex partner, recommended that the best solution for the company’s needs was Nintex Workflow.

Who they are

Bender is a market leader for monitoring systems for electrical safety. For more than six decades, Bender has developed and produced top-quality products for the measurement and monitoring of electrical systems. It employs more than 700 people across the globe. Headquartered in Gruenberg, Germany, it has offices, agencies and distributors in more than 70 countries.

What they needed

Bender struggled with inefficient internal processes that resulted in inadvertent errors and delays. Its paper-based process slowed down the quality of work and made the company more prone to mistakes.

How they did it

IPI GmbH, a Nintex partner, introduced Bender to a SharePoint 2010-based collaboration environment with Nintex Advanced Workflow to automate processes that were traditionally done via paper forms.

Workflow automation improves product quality

Now, what once took days to process can be done in a day. Now, Bender’s automated submission process involves an electronic form, available on the company’s collaboration platform. Once submitted, the team is able to react to information and make accurate reports on the same day. The process provides visibility into the causes of failures and as a result, the company produces higher quality products.

We are well on the way to ensuring knowledge is captured and processes are automated with an eye on long-term benefits. Our employees are actively part of defining these processes for better collaboration and efficiency.
