Applied Technical Services achieves document consistency and visibility with workflows
New digital workflow improved document management
Applied Technical Services (ATS) is one of the leading testing, inspection and consulting engineering firms in North America. With corporate headquarters in Marietta, GA, 28 satellite offices and about 700 employees, ATS provides expert services in a variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, nuclear, and pulp and paper.
With up to 20% year-over-year growth and thousands of active projects, the company’s information management approach no longer served its needs. Information storage was fractured and inconsistent among departments. Lack of clear, consistent process and data workflows impeded operating efficiency. ATS wanted to overhaul its legacy internal portal, build a home page for each department with document storage centralized within the system, and create a customer portal. To achieve these, they needed to find a more intuitive, automated solution.
ATS called in Abel Solutions to create a centralized repository. Together, ATS and Abel adopted SharePoint 2013 with Nintex Advanced Workflow and Modern Forms. They now use the system for project, job, employee, and even prospect and client information.
