STIEBEL ELTRON Improves Customer Experience with Workflow Solutions

STIEBEL ELTRON has produced energy-efficient water heating since the company’s inception in 1924, and today has grown to offer renewable energy and engineering solutions in over 120 countries.

The company delivers innovation in energy efficiency to nearly 3,000 customers and sought a more efficient file-sharing solution to replace a manual process. The workflow automation solution needed to be digital and scalable while delivering equal parts transparency and efficiency.

Document transparency, or knowing who (customers and partners) is accessing which document including large images and videos, was a core requirement for all shared content.

STIEBEL ELTRON worked with Nintex Partner, IPI GmbH, and implemented Nintex Workflow and Nintex Forms for SharePoint.

Since launching the new digital workflow and forms solution, the company gained 50 percent time savings and saw increased demand for Nintex solutions from employees.

STIEBEL ELTRON and File Sharing

With Nintex workflow and forms technology, STIEBEL ELTRON could skip the coding, avoid manual file management, and eliminate concerns over access. More importantly, they discovered the simplest way to gain efficiency and transparency: Integrate with Active Directory (AD).

By leveraging AD, STIEBEL ELTRON eased the pains of access provisioning and file sharing.

When an external customer needs file access, now thanks to the Nintex digital workflow solution, a form will trigger a workflow to automatically create an Internet-accessible folder in STIEBEL ELTRON’s AD account for the customer. The same workflow delivers a message to the customer containing the unique access credentials.

STIEBEL ELTRON’s employees may also set specific time limits: The workflow manages permissions and after a pre-defined timeslot, archives the content automatically, and deletes the customer’s AD account.
