As post-COVID-19 workplace re-openings begin, businesses and employees are eager to return to work. However, the workplace they’re returning isn’t the same place it was before COVID-19, as continued outbreaks still pose a very real risk to employees and customers across every industry.
It’s important that organizations reopening take adequate measures to ensure safety and reduce potential risks so that they can remain open and keep their employees and visitors safe.
This was a challenge that BNBuilders was forced to navigate early on the COVID-19 crisis.
The West Coast-based general contractor specializes in highly technical commercial construction projects. The company has offices and approximately 150 active job sites across the State of Washington and California.
Watch how the Nintex Platform is leveraged by partners and customers like BNBuilders to improve the way people work through process management and automation.
Safety = Essential
At the start of the COVID-19 crisis, governors of California and Washington issued stay-home orders for all non-essential workers to slow the spread of the virus. However, construction was considered an essential business in California and for a portion of its jobs in Washington State. With many clients expecting jobs to be delivered on time, BNBuilders had to quickly navigate how work could continue safely during the pandemic.
The company’s crisis response and safety teams determined the need to implement a daily check-in form for anyone visiting offices and job sites. The form would include contact information, the job site/office location, as well as COVID-19 risk-related questions. Once in place, BNBuilders crisis response and safety teams would also need quick visibility and reporting into all responses.
Digital solution constructed in 24 hours
Having already implemented numerous digital form and workflow solutions company-wide, BNBuilders’ Solutions Engineer Shawn Namdar knew that he could quickly build and implement a solution with Nintex Workflow Cloud. And with Nintex Workflow Cloud, Namdar turned the entire solution around in just one day.
Thanks to the drag-and-drop functionality of Nintex Workflow Cloud I was able to put the first iteration together in just one day. First thing the next morning I was demo-ing the solution to our crisis response team.”
– Shawn Namdar, Solutions Engineer, BNBuilders
The Nintex Workflow solution records all responses to SharePoint and reporting is monitored through a Power BI dashboard by the safety and crisis teams. If a response matches any flagged parameters, the company’s safety is notified to respond as necessary. Namdar is also able to quickly update the digital form and parameters as recommendations from the CDC change.
In the first two months of usage, the daily check-in form registered an average of 3,100 submissions each week. The solution has helped BNBuilders support compliance with updated business continuity requirements during the pandemic.
Most importantly, the automated form ensures the safety of BNBuilders employees and visitors so work can safely continue.
