Question & Answer with Teresa Murphy – Nintex Impact Award Winner

Teresa Murphy was recently recognized Nintex Impact Award winner for her dedication and quality of work. Teresa has been with Nintex for over 3 years and supports the vital process of global payroll. We stopped to catch up with her to talk about her award, job, and time at Nintex.

1. Congratulations on receiving the Nintex Impact Award! Tell us a little about yourself and your role here at Nintex.

Thank you! I have been with Nintex since May of 2017. My role here at Nintex consists of processing Payroll and Payroll Accounting for the US and EMEA. It is my responsibility to ensure that our great Employees are paid timely and accurately! On a personal level, I was born and raised in the wonderful State of Washington and enjoy shrimping, crabbing, and fishing in the Puget Sound.

2. What has been your favorite part of being a part of the Nintex culture?

My favorite aspect of the Nintex culture is truly the people themselves. Every day I get to work with teammates across the world – from Dubai to Germany, London, and Melbourne. Each of these individuals has their own unique experiences in life and career. Working with them, and learning from them, continues to be a great benefit for me.

3. In your tenure at Nintex, what has been this biggest change?

The biggest change internally has been the recent system migration project that my team just completed. This was a significant change for Nintex on a global level and results in a multitude of time-saving efficiencies for all of our internal partners.

Externally, the biggest change has been the COVID-19 pandemic. We have all adjusted to a new, dynamic way of thinking and working. While in some ways it is a frightening time, it is an exciting time to broaden our intellect, work together and accomplish great things.

4. I understand you use the Nintex Process Platform in your own day-to-day procedures. How has Nintex technology improved the way you work?

Nintex Forms and Workflow for Office 365 has been a lifesaver for me! We had a small, but painful, global payroll process that was not clearly defined and therefore involved time-wasting emails back and forth. Moving the process to automation has eliminated the inefficiencies and streamlined the approval process. Everything I need to ensure accuracy is in one place!

5. How have you seen Nintex technology help others?

The global pandemic has increased our reliance on Nintex technology to drive business efficiencies.

Our teammates rapidly responded to the challenge by publishing more than 20+ templates in the Nintex Process Accelerator Gallery relating to COVID-19, remote work, and business continuity. I am inspired by our customer feedback on how the complimentary coaching sessions, free Nintex skill-training, and virtual events have helped them to adapt and change during these challenging times.

I am proud to be a member of the Nintex family and work with this amazing group!

6. What are you most looking forward to as we are able to safely return to the workplace and resume normal activities?

I am most looking forward to being back in the Bellevue Office and seeing my Nintex Family in person! While technology has allowed us to all stay in touch, it cannot compare to the camaraderie I enjoy sharing in the office.

7. If you were to donate or volunteer for a charitable cause, what organization would you like to support?

I would like to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

To borrow a quote from their organization, “There is no silver bullet to success. It takes an army of people, a safe environment, high-quality programs, and unique experiences to level the playing field for all kids.”

I believe that in order to succeed in life, children today need neutral mentorship which encourages them to think broadly while feeling safe and secure in their environments. They are our leaders of tomorrow and I would like to be a part of helping them to become great leaders!
