Nintex Q&A employee spotlight with Sarah Koplowitz

For this Q&A article, we caught up with Sarah Koplowitz, who is part of our marketing operations team and is always looking for new ways to automate processes and connect and streamline our marketing tech stack. Sarah is based out of San Franciso, USA. 

The goal of the Nintex Q&A blog series is to shine the spotlight on Nintex team members who are transforming the way work gets done. We asked Sarah 18 questions and shared her responses below.  

1. What is your role at Nintex?

Marketing Operations Specialist.

2. Tell us a little bit about how you ended up at Nintex?

I started at Nintex as an intern for the Marketing Operations team in 2019 and ended up extending my internship through my senior year of college, working part-time during the school year. Since graduation, I’ve been working full-time on the same team.   

3. What has been your favorite moment at Nintex so far?

I love any opportunity to connect with my coworkers in person. Since most of my time here has been during COVID, this doesn’t come along too often. Every time I get the chance, I feel so lucky to work with such cool and charismatic people, and getting to know them better makes work so much more fun!  

4. What does an ideal day off work look like for you?

I like using my days off to get out of the city and go hiking in Marin or the East Bay. My family and dog are in Oakland so it’s a huge treat to take a break from the city and be outdoors with them.  

5. Where is home for you?

San Francisco.

6. What is the best part about where you live right now?

I live within walking distance to lots of really nice parks, so even though I’m in a city I always feel like I have the option to get outside, see some trees, and relax somewhere quiet. That and the food scene – there’s always something new and amazing to try! 

7. What’s the best advice you could give to a Nintex customer?

Think big when it comes to automating your processes. If there are other tools integral to your operations, Nintex can make your existing processes so much more powerful. Take advantage of your existing technology and think about where you can benefit from automating the usage and connections between these tools. This is something we spend a lot of time thinking about on our Marketing Operations team, and it has helped us to standardize and implement processes and make change management and onboarding much faster. 

8. What is your favorite food?

Fried chicken sandwich.

9. What are your pronouns?


10. Would you rather cook dinner or have dinner cooked for you?

I would rather cook, it’s my favorite pastime and my favorite way to unwind after work. Plus, cooking for the people in my life is my favorite way to show them I care. 

11. What was your first job ever?

Sales Associate at Sunglass Hut. I did not excel at it… 

12. Would you rather have a cat or a dog as a pet?

I would rather have a dog as they make great companions and you can bring them along to the park, on hikes, and much more… they make all those activities more fun. And I think they’re more emotionally intelligent than cats. 

13. What is the best part about where you work?

Working at Nintex, I feel encouraged to take on projects that I’m excited about and that will help me grow my career in the direction that I choose. I’ve always had the support of my manager and team to take my work in a direction that I’m passionate about rather than being constricted to assignments chosen for me. That is really important to me. 

14. If you were an animal, what would you like to be and why?

I would be a Golden Retriever. I’ve never met an unhappy Golden Retriever and they look like they lead pretty easy lives for the most part! 

15. Would you rather be able to fly or know any language on earth?

I’d rather be able to speak any language – I’m chatty so being able to communicate with anyone would open up a world of opportunity for me. 

16. What would an alternative line of work be for you?

I often imagine what it would be like to be a chef. I don’t think I could ever get bored of cooking, and it would be really cool to have a job where your work is a product of your passion and creativity. 

17. What have you been daydreaming about lately?

Traveling around the world and working remote. After not being able to travel for so long because of COVID, spending a couple of months exploring Europe or Central/South America would be such an incredible experience. 

18. What’s your favorite outdoor activity?

Backpacking is my favorite because you get to experience nature that you could never see on a normal hike or car camping – plus I like to rough it from time to time.
