City of Greater Geelong prioritizes a process-centric culture with Nintex

It would be no exaggeration to say that government agencies have had their work cut out for them – even more so than usual – since the early months of 2020.

With the pandemic making itself heard, organizations across the globe have been compelled to regroup and reinvent themselves to meet the changing business landscape. And government agencies have not escaped unscathed. The addition of new demands resulting from COVID-19 has added to workloads during what has been a turbulent time for many.

Australian city council now standardizes processes

Recently we were excited to announce that the City of Greater Geelong chose Nintex Promapp® to digitally transform and modernize their operations.

By mapping and managing organizational-wide processes and creating a process-centric culture, the council aims to improve the experience of their employees and the community.

Before embarking on their process improvement journey, the council investigated effective ways to manage its processes. They decided on Nintex Promapp® because of the software’s easy-to-use capabilities and intuitive user interface for process mapping and business-process management and started leveraging the process management software in January 2021.

Michael Dugina, Director Customer and Corporate Services, City of Greater Geelong had this to say about the council’s business plans: “We’re looking to map and standardize our processes as part of a major transformation in how we work at the City of Greater Geelong.

“Our ambition is for local residents to enjoy more consistent service delivery and faster response times as a result of the organization’s focus on process improvements.”

Help is at hand

Collaborating with a Nintex partner is one of the key strategic ways that our customers in every industry can accelerate their digital transformation and drive better outcomes across the business. Nintex partners are an excellent resource for organizations that have more sophisticated challenges, or for those teams that are strapped for time and need an effective solution implemented rapidly.

The City of Greater Geelong credits Nintex’s online training videos and Nintex Partner, FactoryTen’s expertise with the Nintex Process Platform for the fact that their process mapping is well underway.

“FactoryTen is a highly-regarded, standards-based development house, skilled with process and form digitization and—as a Nintex partner—was well-placed to partner with the City of Greater Geelong to implement this key strategic platform,” says Jenny Wotherspoon, Business Development Manager at FactoryTen.

“The business improvement team at the City of Greater Geelong are rapidly mapping their processes in Nintex Promapp®, positioning them to successfully identify critical areas of improvement and understand where automation can be deployed for best effect and to reach their digital transformation goals.”

The City has been quick off the blocks, with their initial digital transformation and process improvement efforts focused on their customer service, people & culture, and financial services departments.

“Our goal is to have all of our processes aligned to our customer relationship management, human resources, recruitment, and finance systems replacement mapped by the end of July 2021 – after that, attention will shift to other areas within the organization,” says Michael Dugina.

Congratulations to the team at Greater City of Geelong as they get a firm handle on process improvement and all it can change for organizations that want to provide a superior experience for their customers and their teams.
