Customer Spotlight: ACC New Zealand achieved a single source of process truth

The New Zealand government established the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) in 1974. The organization helps prevent injuries and provides insurance coverage for personal injury with the goal of helping New Zealanders and visitors get back to everyday life if they’ve had an accident.

The organization operates following the standards set in place by the Accident Compensation Act 2001 and over the years has established numerous processes to ensure compliance.

Establishing a single source of truth

To support its continuous improvement efforts, ACC wanted to improve its process documentation and management, and ensure its employees could easily access and find the information they required as part of their role. In 2016, the organization undertook a survey of all its staff to find opportunities for improvement. As a result of the survey, the ACC realized it needed to establish a single source of truth for processes across the organization.

They began by assessing a range of process and data management tools currently on the market. After analysis of potential tools, they selected Nintex Promapp®.

Adopting Nintex Promapp® at ACC

To ease the transition to Nintex Promapp®, ACC’s deployment followed a phased approach that involved initial design, rollout, and then full production. Initial testing was completed by a small team before the platform was made more widely available. Key processes were then documented and refined within Nintex Promapp®.

The result? ACC eliminated multiple sources of inconsistent information, enabled company-wide collaboration for consistent decision-making, established governance and ownership structure, and embedded a culture of continuous process improvement.

  • ACC staff have a single source of truth for the most current processes

The adoption of Nintex Promapp® has also allowed staff members to take ownership of processes. They can make changes as required and answer any questions from other staff as they arise.
