Bellevue-Based Nintex Keeps Growing

John Burton

Nintex has quietly positioned itself to be a leader in workflow automation, a market estimated to grow to $5.53 billion in 2019.

Nintex closed its 2014 fiscal year with more than $55 million in revenue, an 80 percent increase since 2012. The company is quickly coming to the end of fiscal year 2015, ending in June, and CEO John Burton said Nintex is expecting revenue growth to exceed 30 percent.

"Simply put, Nintex technology is both much easier to use and faster to return on investment than any other technology. We've designed and developed for professionals, rather than needing IT and developers/programmers to automate their workflows," Burton said.

As successful as Nintex has been in the past four years, it isn't resting. The company was a platinum sponsor at this year's Microsoft Ignite conference, where it showcased new cloud and mobile capabilities and the ability to integrate cloud and on-site functions. Nintex also recently announced a new partnership with Sharegate to move customers to Office 365.

Burton said that because of Nintex's approach to business and its easy-to-use integration, the company has more than 5,000 customers with more than 8 million end users. It counts more than 30 percent of Fortune 500 companies as clients.

"We empower business users to address their important needs, and as a byproduct, lower the demands on IT," Burton said. "While we are a software and cloud-solutions company that builds and supports products, we also work hand-in-hand with professional services partners that provide consulting and training."

As a result of becoming a globally recognized company, the number of employees working in the Bellevue office has grown sixfold in the past four years. Burton said the company's founders, Brett Campbell and Brian Cook, valued an entrepreneurial culture driven by teamwork, creativity, and a positive outlook. To keep pace with the rate of growth, the company is working hard to attract high-performing, talented people while cultivating a friendly and collaborative work environment.

"We've fostered an environment that inspires employees to do their best work and have fun while they're at it," Burton said. "As a result, we take pride in having an employee turnover rate that is lower than the industry average."

The company is focusing on scaling its systems and processes to accommodate the rapid growth in sales and headcount.

"We're fortunate to have global presence, great technology, high growth, profitability and market leadership.  Our mission is to promote the benefits we provide to our clients, continue our technology innovation and elevate awareness as a global brand that changes the way people work with each other within an enterprise," Burton said.
